Description:
Rich, fudgy, and irresistibly chocolatey — these Brownie Bars are the ultimate treat for chocolate lovers! With a crackly top and a gooey center, this recipe strikes the perfect balance between chewy and soft. Perfect as an afternoon snack or an indulgent dessert. 🍫✨
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon baking powder
Optional: ½ cup (90 g) chocolate chips or chunks for extra gooeyness
Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips or chunks if desired.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing into bars.
For fudgier brownies, slightly underbake them — they’ll continue to set as they cool.
Add a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch.
Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or refrigerate for a week.
